San Juan Bautista

The “Colegio San Juan Bautista” is a state-financed but privately-managed school which hosts students from Nursery (3-5 years old) up to Vocational Studies. Thus, Compulsory Education -Primary (5-11 years old) and Secondary (11-16 years old) Education- is included. Apart from the formal curriculum the school has a wide offer of extra-academic activities. The school is located in Los Corrales de Buelna, in Cantabria which is an industrial town of about 10 000 inhabitants.
There has been a great number of immigrants in the 1990’s and some of them are still living here. Most of them of Romanian origin.
We are working to have an inclusive model of school and, for this reason, we have two full qualified teachers devoted to Compensatory Education, and also we have two SEN-units (Special Education Need Students). We also cover the needs of those students who come from a different mother tongue country and require learning Spanish in order to be able to start the Spanish educational system.
Improving the standard of knowledge in foreign languages is one of our priorities and, that is why, we have set up a bilingual programme for our secondary students which started two years ago and by means of which the students have the possibility of being taught in English in some subjects such as Geography, PE and RE.

WELCOME TO MY LIFE

ESTA ES MI VIDA

Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong
And no one understands you

Do you ever want to run away?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you screaming

No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels alright
You don't know what it's like
To be like me

To be hurt, to feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

Te has sentido hundido alguna vez?
Te has sentido fuera de lugar?
Harto de un mundo superficial
Y nadie te comprende.

Has querido huir alguna vez?
Encerrarte, salir, llorar?
Con la radio a todo volumen
Y que nadie te oiga gritar.

Tú no sabes que se siente
Cuando nadie se encuentra bien
Tú no sabes lo que es
Ser como yo.

Ser herido, estar perdido
Abandonado en la oscuridad
Ser pateado cuando estás hundido
Sentir la presión de no poder más
Estar a punto de caer, fallar
Y nadie te va a salvar
No, no sabes lo que es

Esta-es mi vida

Our students performing the song!!

And the next song will be...(THIS IS THE SONG WE HAVE CHOOSEN FROM ANOTHER SCHOOL TO PLAY THIS VERSION)

LET HER GO

Our students performing the song!!

We have really enjoyed singing the songs.

It's been great fun rehearsing and recording ourselves. Adapting the lyrics is a little bit harder, but we've also have laughed a lot doing so, until the syllables really fitted.

We hope you like our videos and maybe see you next year. Hope so.
